The family of Alexander Hesselberg have been solicitors for 6 generations. The Advokatfirmaet Hesselberg Law Firm is the oldest law firm in Norway, operating continually since 1832. It was established by Iver Hesselberg, a son of one of the authors of the Norwegian Constitution, and his interests in law must have been generated by his father’s work on the Constitution.
Alexander Hesselberg took over the Law Firm from his father in 2005. The Firm has expanded significantly since then. Today, it employs 4 solicitors and 4 legal trainees. Alexander Hesselberg’s expertise is in the company law, real estate (including constructions, houses / summer homes, usufruct, roads, and quays), insurance law, and contract law. On top of that, Hesselberg is involved in the economic life of the Vestfold and Telemark region, handling legal and organizational matters for numerous local enterprises. He is, inter alia, the Executive in Vestfold Flyplassinvest AS, which is a part of the Torp Sandefjord airport. In addition, he is the Chairman of the Board in Vierli Turistsenter AS and Vierli Eigedom AS, which run several ski centres and hotels in Rauland, Telemark. Hesselberg is also involved in the tourism business in the Telemark region, as the Chairman of the Board in Rauland Turist AS. Besides his activity as the solicitor, Alexander Hesselberg has been very active in sport in the region, both in local and regional clubs. At present, he serves as the Vice-Chairman in NFF Vestfold and the Member of the Board in Vestfold Toppidrett. In recent years, he has been focusing on cases aimed at protecting clients against litigation. His consulting has concerned mostly advising parties on how to avoid conflicts and our clients highly appreciate this strategy.
